I knew it would be just a matter of time before one of Charlotte's hot spots near uptown would charge to park. Up until recently, parking was free at Optimist Hall. That has now changed. The hundreds who flock to the food hall on weekends will now have to pay to park -- sort of.

Optimist Hall owners say they now have a partnership with Laz Park to initiate a paid parking model. Before you get too bent out of shape, visitors will enjoy the first 90 minutes at no charge. But after that, for up to three hours it's $5 and then to park between three hours and 24 hours is $18.

Why pay parking? Optimist Hall says it wants to provide convenient and efficient parking for all of its visitors.

Optimist Hall just recently celebrated it's three-year anniversary. The Hall houses some 20+ restaurants offering a variety of cuisine from burgers to Bao buns.

Customers with questions can contact optimisthall@lazparking.com.

Optimist Hall has some really cool restaurants. Check out some of these.
