House Rules When Family Visits
Yes, there are house rules even for visiting family members. Are your house rules fair or strange? During grade school my friends had weird house rules. As an adult I’ve picked up a few weird rules relating to when guest should rise and shine. Another one is to leave when you said you’d leave. Another rule is to flush the toilet, don’t leave hair in the sink. Yuck! Speaking of toilets, some people don’t like guests to flush the toilet after dark. That’s just unsanitary.
Have a habit of standing in front of the fridge staring into it as if something new that you didn’t buy will suddenly appear? That is a no, no in some folks home. You do not open the fridge unless you know what you want and for no longer than a few seconds. Who know that the food would suddenly get warm and go bad that quickly. No rival soda products. There was a household that was very loyal to Pepsi. If you brought a Coke or even a Sprite into the home you were made to pour it out. Don’t close the doors. No inside doors can be closed because the cat needs access to all areas day and night. This applies to guests as well. Nope, not staying here over night. Walls are not too be touched. Not at all. A dirty fingerprint will cause a CSI investigation into who dared touch the wall. Clean your plate. Doesn’t matter if your stomach is so full it is about to explode, the plate must be clean. That includes condiments.
