Finding Happiness In Chaos
You might have noticed a shift in the lack of certainty as fear is pumped into the air. What’s the difference between being happy and being positive? Is there even a difference? The answer is, yes! If you think about- happiness is a mood. It’s a feeling. No matter what wonderful, exciting thing happens to you, the happy feelings only last so long. Just like any emotion, happiness is temporary. Positivity, on the other hand, is a mindset and a way of viewing the world. It’s an attitude you embrace no matter how bad or negative the circumstances are. No matter how you’re feeling or what you’re currently going through, you can always decide to look for the good and hope for a better tomorrow.
When your day isn’t going your way or something terrible happens to you, it’s extremely hard to remain happy. Sometimes, happiness can be within your control when it revolves around the choices you personally make. Yet, then again there are many things we can’t control that cause unhappiness. That’s where the power of positivity comes into play. Positivity is always, always, always in your control. Being optimistic about a situation and trying to see the good, no matter how bad, is a choice. You might feel miserable, but if you equip yourself with a positive attitude, you can still believe good things are coming. You must believe you can take away something meaningful from every experience.
Happiness and positivity aren’t the same. Don’t get down on yourself for feeling happy for an hour and not the next. Happiness could have you chasing after things for years, waiting for the day when everything feels perfect all the time. That’s not attainable because its simply not reality. Luckily, positivity will always meet you right where you are, through all of life’s twists and turns and ups and downs. If you spend your life chasing a fantasy, aka happiness, you’ll always be on the hunt for something. Instead, focus on mastering the skill of positivity, because you’ll always make the most of wherever you are and be able to handle whatever’s thrown your way!
