N.O.R.E. Blasts Rappers For Doing Interviews With Non-Hip-Hop Media
N.O.R.E. is calling out rappers for prioritizing doing sit-down interviews with mainstream media outlets over ones dedicated to hip-hop. The rapper and media personality is the host of REVOLT’s Drink Champs where he and DJ EFN interview high-profile rap artists.
“I have been the best to this culture I have always put Hip Hop first and I see guys go to Ellen [DeGeneres] and David [Letterman] and Zane Lows [he’s referring to Zane Lowe] and treat them [with] more respect [than] the culture but say [you] want Black excellence,” he tweeted on Wednesday night (May 25).
The media personality pointed out that it is not necessarily about race as he included Oprah Winfrey and Gale King into the mix as well.
“Imma be honest even going to [Oprah Winfrey] or [Gayle King] is trash at this point!!! We control our culture why go outside of it!!!,” the rapper added.
The Drink Champs host added that he is a fan of Letterman but says priority should go to platforms such as Gillie Da King, Joe Budden, and himself. “David letterman is my favorite but man why go there or Ellen before million dollars worth of game or joe or the champs or even twitter s—!!!” he expressed.
The rapper and media personality’s comments come after Cardi B’s appearance on the latest season of the Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman although the media personality said he was not targeting Cardi in his Twitter rant.
“I literally was not talking bout any artist especially any female artist I was talking bout our culture period we control what’s cool not the outsiders!!!,” the host explained.
