Doja Cat Explains Why She ‘Swerved’ Jack Harlow In 2020
Doja Cat has finally explained why she curved Jack Harlow back in 2020 after quickly exiting their Instagram Live.
“My wig was peeling off and I noticed that and I was like, ‘Oh, gotta go, bye,’” she explained at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards red carpet per HotNewHipHop. “Not that I care about that thing usually.”
Harlow was also asked about his relationship with the Planet Her singer on the red carpet: “I’ve become cool with Doja. That was early in our friendship, now we know each other pretty well. So I ain’t gonna do nothing too silly. I think I’m playing it cool today.”
Both Harlow and Doja know how to make a hit but they have yet to collab. Back in December, Harlow spoke to Variety about wanting to work with Doja in the future.
“We’d make a number-one together,” he told Variety at the time. “Doja, I know you know. Come on.”
Doja took home four awards on Sunday (May 15) for “Top Viral Song,” “Top R&B Female Artist,” “Top R&B Artist,” and “Top R&B Album.”
Harlow took home “Top Rap Song” as the featured artist on Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby.” The Kentucky native also performed “First Class” from this newest project Come Home The Kids Miss You as part of the opening performance of the award show.
