Military Noise Advisories
It seems you’ve heard by now the heavy explosion’s in North Carolina. The Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune is contacting their neighbors to inform them about when and where those distracting noises are likely to happen. Notices called a weekly noise report every Friday will tell citizens of any potential noise that could cause concern. If you have any concerns or questions there is a dedicated noise abatement hotline. You might have experienced noises, but some call about vibrations, excessive dust, and low-flying aircraft. Call the dedicated line (910) 451-9079, or by email at CLJN_GLOBE_WEB@usmc.mil.
I hope families with children that have high anxiety or hyper sensitivities to loud bangs and flashing light, is okay. For example, Autistic children and teenagers are sometimes oversensitive to nosey crowds of people. Even simple trips to the grocery store has to be planned. When you see a mom with a crying child, be patient because you never know what’s happening. Be safe and kind and don’t forget to call the dedicated hotline.
