NBA Player Tests Positive
After the Phoenix Suns advanced to the Western Conference Finals, they had devastating news that their starter Chris Paul tested positive for COVID-19 with the headline breaking out this morning. Paul has tested positive for COVID-19 even though he received a Pfizer vaccine in February, according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro. His coronavirus case is the league’s first in three weeks and is unknown if the point guard has symptoms. At this time, he is sidelined indefinitely and his status for the upcoming Western Conference Finals is unknown.
It is unfortunate for the team to hear about this situation with Phoenix Suns having time to rest and practice as they await who their rival will be in the Western Conference Finals. The series between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz are currently tied at 2-2 with the winner to face off against Phoenix. Paul averaged 16.4 points and 8.9 assists during the regular season. He is coming off a four-game series sweep of the Denver Nuggets in which he averaged 25.5 points and 10.3 assists per outing while shooting 63% from the field.
