Should We Be Concerned About Kanye West?
Without getting outwardly political in either direction, here’s what’s happening with Kanye West.
Last week, Kanye started to tweet again in full throttle spurts, calling it a book that he’s writing in real time.

While Fortune Cookie Kanye had a lot to say on many subjects, some that were definitely retweetable concepts, it all took a nose dive when he started outwardly supporting Donald Trump, the current president.
As you know, the state of America is in a very strange political situation – one that has felt dangerous many a time. And with many of the policies and desires of Trump Supporters have been negative towards African Americans and their culture, Kanye still seems to be backing his friend.
Ye then released another statement via Twitter saying the following on Trump’s political stances:

After many reports went out last night on the subject, and it became the topic of conversation for many individuals, Kim took to the keyboards to say a few words, including that she believes the media throws around mental health too much as a headline, and that Kanye made the decision to part ways with a lot of his team, which became their backing point that his mental health was declining again.
To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this... your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary. So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair

Yesterday it was announced that Kanye had parted ways with some business people and media outlets made this about Kanye’s mental health. Rather than just a simple business decision. So I’m glad he tweeted about the state of his company and all of the exciting things happening

He’s a free thinker, is that not allowed in America? Because some of his ideas differ from yours you have to throw in the mental health card? That’s just not fair. He’s actually out of the sunken place when he’s being himself which is very expressive

She did, however, get to the root of the matter, and made sure to make it clear to everyone that she did not agree with Kanye’s feelings about Trump, and that they differ when it comes to politics.
Now when he spoke out about Trump... Most people (including myself) have very different feelings & opinions about this. But this is HIS opinion. I believe in people being able to have their own opinions, even if really different from mine

He never said he agrees with his politics
Kanye will never run in the race of popular opinion and we know that and that’s why I love him and respect him and in a few years when someone else says the same exact thing but they aren’t labeled the way he is and you will all praise them! Kanye is years ahead of his time

Mental Health is no joke and the media needs to stop spitting that out so casually. Bottom line

Along with Kim, Chance The Rapper spoke out, and though he didn’t necessarily say whether he agreed, disagreed or anything like that, he had this much to say when people had asked if he had spoken with Kanye lately:
Talked to him two days ago. He’s in a great space and not affected by folk tryna question his mental or physical health. Same Ye from the Vmas, same Ye from the telethon. https://t.co/2zY3KpllV2

Once he started to get heat from people for saying “Black people don’t have to be Democrats,” he left Twitter with this gif and stopped tweeting.

To make matters even more difficult, it seemed as if Kanye was losing his follower count on Twitter after all of this, but after XXL reached out to a Twitter spokesperson who responded via email, they said, “We can confirm that Kanye’s follower count is currently at approximately 27M followers. Any fluctuation that people might be seeing is an inconsistency and should be resolved soon.”
