If you’re looking to live in an area in Charlotte, North Carolina and want the ‘uptown’ and ‘swanky’ feel, you’re going to pay for it. According to the latest census stats, these Charlotte apartment communities are some of the priciest places to rent.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates there are about 880,000 people living in Charlotte last year. In the metro area, there are more than 2.7 million residents. Charlotte’s Regional Business Alliance says some 84 people moved into the area every day between 2020 – 2021.

And where are these new ‘residents’ moving to exactly? Well, according to a Charlotte marketing analytics company, there are a little over 201,000 existing apartment units in the Queen City. And another 22,000 that are under construction. They are expected to be completed over the next two years.

That places apartment-living in Charlotte in high demand. And basic economics teaches us, when there is a demand, prices will likely increase. That is currently the case to live in and around uptown Charlotte. The Charlotte Business Journal reports these are some of the most expensive high-end apartments in the city.
