One statement no one, and I mean no one would disagree with- Charlotte loves its craft beer. In fact, Charlotte loves craft beer so much we have an entire week (and then some) dedicated to the crisp refreshing drink. This year we will celebrate Charlotte Craft Beer Week the week of October 20-29th! That's ten full days of beer and fun. Count me in!
So what does Charlotte Craft Beer Week actually consist of? A lot! There will be a home brew competition for all you amateur brewers out there. There are also educational events including:
Local Malt Talk
- Date: Monday Oct 23rd, 2023
- Time: 6-9pm
- Location: The Hop Shop
- Featuring Epiphany Malt
Yeast Comparison Showcase

Or perhaps a brewery crawl is more what you're looking for? I know I'm excited! Craft Beer Week will be made up of three different crawls. First on Friday, October 20th will be the NoDa Brewery Crawl. Followed by the Boozy Brunch Brewery Crawl in Plaza Midwood on Sunday, October 22nd (count me in for that one). Celebrate Halloween the right way with the LoSo Halloween Crawl on Saturday, October 28th.
Charlotte Craft Beer Week also wants you to take care of your mental health. As a part of the week there will be a Mental Health Happy Hour at Divine Barrel Brewing on Wednesday, October 25th. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about different resources you can take advantage of to help improve your mental health. The event will feature a Q&A Panel led by Chris Weedon, founder of Mentally Shredded.
Another fun event for those of you who purchase and collect brewery merch. The Pink Boots Merch Swap. The event takes place on Tuesday, October 24th at HopFly Brewing.
