I have only worked in the hospitality industry once. It was many years ago and I worked as a server at a pizza restaurant. I enjoyed what I did and the tips were good. However, I must say some customers weren’t so nice.

A recent survey conducted by Food Service Direct ranked the best and worst states for hospitality workers. The study polled 2000 workers across all states in hospitality fields, including food service, hotels, tourism, travel, and restaurants and bars.

The study compiled data including reported hourly earnings, cost of living, healthcare benefits, employee recognition, opportunities for growth, COVID-19 benefits, and work environment. Funny enough, two of the only states I have ever worked in both made the best list.
