Are you ready for the fair? Everyone knows the best part of the fair is the food. From funnel cakes to corn dogs to deep-fried everything, the fair has so many options for you to be able to enjoy. This year the North Carolina State Fair is offering up some new fair foods for you to enjoy.

News Observer is serving up the list of new foods coming to the North Carolina State Fair this year. I am beyond ready because I honestly go for the food. I do enjoy a few rides here and there, but the whole purpose is the food. The fair is your chance to try all of the unhealthy, greasy, and tasty foods that the fair is serving up. This year there are nearly 40 different dishes making a debut at the fair. Can you believe that? 40! The North Carolina State Fair runs from October 13 to October 23. The culinary of the state fair is one of the biggest things known to be a big attraction for the fair. If you are planning on heading to the state fair this year, then you might want to check out some of the foods available this year.

News Food Coming to the State Fair:

  • DEEP-FRIED PIGGY TAILS BY BEAVER CONCESSIONS

Deep fried? That already sounds like the start of a great treat, right? Deep-fried piggy tails on a stick are about to be a top-tier attraction from Beaver Concessions. Enjoy this deep-fried, pork-loving treat topped with cinnamon, sugar, and syrup. They are also serving up some of your favorites including funnel cakes, deep-fried Oreos, and more!

  • DEEP-FRIED BACON MAC-N-CHEESE TACOS BY BUBBA’S BACON

Okay, but if anything this is something you would love to enjoy. Four of the best things mixed into one is the greatest: deep fried things, bacon, mac & cheese, and tacos. What more could you ask for honestly? Bubba’s Bacon is serving this taco treat this year at the fair and I think its worth a try. There is also a cheese sauce added on top making it even more worth a major cheat meal!

  • DILLYLICIOUS LOADED PICKLES BY CHESTER’S GATORS AND TATERS

Here is another one that sounds like a great snack that you will need to walk off immediately after eating it. Chester’s Gators and Taters is a great way to treat yourself on a fall day walking through the fair. Loaded fried pickles topped with bacon, ranch, and melted beer cheese. WHEW, I think my insides just hurt thinking about it but I am sure that it tastes even better.

  • DORIESQUITES BY DOUGLAS FARMS

Douglas Farms will be at the fair serving up doriesquites. I personally have never had it, but the description makes me wonder how good it tastes. They are taking a bag of Doritos and filling it up with off the cob Mexican street corn taking things to the next level. This twist on the walking taco will be at the North Carolina State Fair, will you be giving it a try?

  • CHICKEN POT PIE BISCUIT BY FUN TIME FOODS

Fun Time Foods is bringing some chicken pot pie to the fair. Chicken pot pie is a good one to enjoy when you are relaxing in the fall weather, but clearly you can enjoy it at the fair as well. Never have I thought about chicken pot pit at the fair, but here is a new one worth checking out. The chicken pot pie is scooped onto a flaky biscuit sounding like the perfect brunch meal! I could see this making its way to brunch menus very soon for sure.

  • THANKSGIVING-STUFFED TURKEY LEG BY HICKORY TREE TURKEY BBQ

Did someone say Thanksgiving foods? Well, Hickory Tree Turkey BBQ sure did. Enjoy this Thanksgiving favorite on a stick while you walk around and sightsee at the North Carolina State Fair. Enjoy a giant smoked turkey leg stuffed with all your favorites including gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Talk about a Thanksgiving meal all in one. You can also add some of your favorite sides to your meal like yams, collards, and/or mac and cheese.

  • CHURRO TOTS BY HOT CHIX HOTCAKES & CHICKEN

Churro tots? Now that is a mixture I surely would like to see. Tater tots and fries have become staples for a dessert mixture that you would love to enjoy. Enjoy some fried tater tots topped with some of your favorites including cinnamon, sugar, and caramel sauce for dipping or smothered all over. Yummy, this sounds so good! You can also enjoy tater tots loaded with chicken, cheese, bacon, and more if you want to double up on the tots for something salty.

  • BUFFALO CHICKEN PINWHEELS BY LA FARM BAKERY

The name explains it all. La Farm Bakery is bringing buffalo chicken pinwheels to the state fair and I think I might need a few orders. One of the best bakeries in the Triangle is bringing their baked goods and adding a twist to it all. Enjoy a flaky, artisan croissant topped with Buffalo chicken dip and cheddar cheese. How much better can you get, right? This is one of those meals that you will think about eating again soon as you finish your plate.

  • RATTLESNAKE CORNDOG BY PIONEER WAGON

Excuse me, a rattlesnake corndog? What in the world is that?! Well, a rattlesnake corndog will be at the fair this year. Now, this is certainly one that I do not plan on participating in, but hearing your thoughts surely sounds cool. If you head that way, let me know what your experience is. This treat takes rattlesnake made into a sausage and then deep fried as a corn dog. On top, you can enjoy some avocado sauce drizzled across. As much as I do not want to try this, it does sound intriguing to say the least.
