North Carolina Get Free Ice Cream This January At The New Jeni’s
Jeni’s Ice Cream is opening its newest Charlotte scoop shop this January! Which means one important thing. Free ice cream! Customers can celebrate at the new Blakeney shop (9828 Rea Road) on Thursday, Jan.12 from 7-11 p.m. And everyone who stops by will enjoy FREE scoops all night long (yes, you read that right). That’s not all. The first 50 people in line will get extra Jeni’s goodies.
Free scoops include all the classics including Brambleberry Crisp and Salty Caramel. Or my personal favorite Buttercream Birthday Cake. (Also I just saw Boozy Egg Nog on their website and I’m going to try that ASAP). Plus, there are always seasonal favorites on the menu, including Blackout Chocolate Cake and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries. Make sure to stop by January 12th at the new Jeni’s to get your free ice cream!

Think You've Tried "Everything?" How About Everything Bagel Ice Cream
Jeni’s Everything Bagel Ice Cream is back. After dividing the internet last year the flavor makes its much-anticipated return on March 21. Everything Bagel sold out so fast last year that most didn’t get a chance to try it but it’s only available this year while supplies last. But the demand is still there. Since it’s debut it’s been Jeni’s been our most requested, most-searched-for flavor. This time, Jeni’s wants to give everyone a chance to snag a spoonful and weigh in on what they think.
You can argue whether or not this flavor should exist and without trying it I have my doubts! But those who have tasted it say you can’t dispute that it tastes exactly like an everything bagel. Which I do love, a lot. Dense, salty, barely sweet cream cheese ice cream with a buttery streusel (made from scratch in Jeni’s Columbus kitchen) laden with sesame, poppy seeds, onions, and garlic. While I’ve been known to put the Trader Joe’s Everything Bagel seasoning on borderline everything, I’m not sold on this. But I’m intrigued enough to try it for sure. They say Everything Bagel has the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory—and is just plain delicious.
Jeni’s said that the flavor wasn’t created for shock value. The attention and divide actually surprised them. Actually, pairing everything bagel seasoning with ice cream has been done at Jeni’s for years. Everything bagel gravel (or streusel) was first available in scoop shops as a topping in the summer of 2013. In fact, there is even a recipe for that same gravel in the 2014 cookbook, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Desserts. So creating a flavor featuring the seasonings was an obvious move for the company.
