Burtons Grill Plans $6M Huntersville Location, Adding Third Charlotte-Area Restaurant
A new Burtons Grill & Bar will open at 8908-A Lindholm Drive in Huntersville, North Carolina this April. The 6,100-square-foot location marks their third spot in Charlotte’s bustling food scene.
The restaurant will seat 176 people in the dining area, with 30 spots at the bar and space for 100 diners outside. Two special areas provide extra seating, a corner section with patio access, and a media-ready room, fitting another 68 guests.
The menu features comfort food favorites like burgers and short-rib grilled cheese, alongside fancier dishes including lobster rolls and Mediterranean chicken risotto. Their premium steaks come directly from Allen Brothers in Chicago.
Success at their Charlotte locations has driven this expansion, with sales growing significantly since 2023. The company’s overall sales went up 6.5% in early 2025.
After opening at Park Road Shopping Center in 2016, followed by Blakeney Town Center, this third spot boosts their Charlotte footprint. Now with 20 locations, they’re expanding to new cities like Raleigh and Wilmington, looking to open three or four restaurants each year.
The Huntersville restaurant features white quartz and living plant walls for a modern feel. It’s part of Birkdale Place, which will soon welcome other restaurants like Caribou Coffee and Chopt.
They maintain a completely peanut-free kitchen to protect guests from allergies. The menu includes lots of gluten-free choices, and the staff can customize dishes for different dietary restrictions.
“People who have accessibility [issues], people with special needs, and the big one is really the dietary restrictions and allergy friendly because that’s a tough one to pull off in our business,” said John Haggai, Burtons Grill & Bar CEO, to wtvr.com
Growth has picked up since Streetlight Ventures bought the chain in 2022. Recent openings in Richmond and Plantation showcase their rapid expansion.
Founded in 2005, they’ve grown to include catering services and a loyalty program that rewards regular customers.
