North Carolina 85% Of You Are Worried About Losing Your Job In The Next Year

I think I still have PTSD from the world shutting down during COVID and losing my job. And this time of year it’s not uncommon for companies to do budget cuts so it’s hard to feel completely safe. Factor in the diciness of the economy these days, fear of losing your job is almost to be expected. So if you are feeling anxiety over potential unemployment just know that you are not alone. Our friends at  MyPerfectResume® (MPR) found that 85% of workers are worried that they will lose their jobs in 2024. Further broken down 50 percent reported being “a little worried” while 35% said “they were definitely worried” in regards to losing their job. 
This comes to us from My Perfect Resume’s 2024 Workplace Trends Survey which they shared with us. Their researchers surveyed more than 1,800 workers in the US during October 2023. The sentiment expressed in the survey was that 80% of respondents expect the US to be in a recession in 2024. Additionally, 80% of people fear using their jobs for AI. This isn’t a lot of optimism in the job market these days. 
“The 2024 workplace landscape promises a dynamic blend of challenges and opportunities. To succeed, workers and employers alike must recognize that adaptability is the name of the game while striking a balance between addressing challenges and seizing opportunities will determine the winners,” said Kellie Hanna, Career Expert at MyPerfectResume. “Navigating this complex terrain will demand more than just resilience; it will require a high degree of professionalism and a strategic vision,” Hanna concluded.

In our busy lives, it often feels like we spend more time in the office than at home. Work can get crazy, and sometimes, our manners take a back seat. Workplace etiquette is all about how we act and interact at work, from how we dress to how we chat with our colleagues or handle shared spaces. With evolving ideas about work and shifting societal norms, office etiquette can sometimes be confusing. Good Office Etiquette

Good office etiquette covers a lot, especially given the changes in how we work in recent years, including remote setups and virtual communication. Going the extra mile sometimes means arriving a bit early, depending on your job and office culture. It’s a signal to your boss that you’re a go-getter.

Many offices are shared spaces, so cleaning up after yourself is a big deal. It helps you get along with your colleagues. Additionally, looking sharp and presentable is important unless you’re in a super relaxed work setting that embraces flip-flops and t-shirts. This etiquette applies to everything, from weekly meetings with the boss to work parties.

It’s also wise to be ready to share your thoughts when your boss asks for input in meetings. It’s a chance to showcase your engagement and professionalism, contributing to productive discussions and decision-making.

While office etiquette training typically covers professional boundaries related to issues like gender, religion, and sexuality, it’s essential to respect your colleagues’ time and personal space.

    In the realm of office etiquette, there are some unspoken rules regarding food. First, it’s just common sense not to talk with your mouth full. Secondly, it’s a clear no-no to help yourself to someone else’s food from the office fridge. Lastly, be mindful of what you heat in the microwave.
