Thomas Perry of Gastonia said he has wanted a new car for years and now he can get one after a $5 scratch-off purchase drove him to a $200,000 win.

How do you enter the second chance Lottery in NC? Look for games with Second Chance promotions and enter them in your account to get automatic entries for big prizes. For each scratch-off ticket, enter the ticket number, which is the 12-digit number on the back of the ticket above the barcode in the form. Then enter the 12-digit entry number, on the front of the ticket located in the scratch-off area in the form.

Many people who play the lottery win the first time. Just like Thomas Perry of Gastonia who won  $200,000 from a $5 scratch-off purchase. Perry bought his lucky Ruby Red 7’s ticket from the Save Mart on Union Road in Gastonia. After scratching his ticket to his car to see his winnings, he also scanned the ticket in the store. Perry collected his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required federal and state withholdings, took home $142,501. Now Perry can do some things he’s wanted for quite some time. Those Ruby Red 7’s debuted in December with six $200,000 prizes. One $200,000 prize remains to be claimed. Maybe it can be yours.

Ticket sales from scratch-off games make it possible for the lottery to raise $2.5 million a day on average for education. For details on how $14.9 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Gaston County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
