One Carolina Ranks As the Worst State for Women’s Equality
It’s no secret that women still experience their fair share of unequal treatment in the workforce, and even in society in general, but there are some states that have made great strides in women’s equality. Well, now a new report reveals which states are doing the best job at just that.
To coincide with Women’s Equality Day, which is Friday, WalletHub has come out with its list of the Best and Worst States for Women’s Equality. They looked at the 50 states based on 17 key indicators in areas of a workplace environment, education and health, and political empowerment. They include things like the gap between female and male executives, unemployment rates for men and women, income disparity between genders, and more. With that in mind, New Mexico earns the honor as the best state for women’s equality, scoring 70.03 out of 100 and landing on top for the workplace environment and 10th for health and education. Nevada, second overall, is tops for the political environment, while Kentucky is tops for health and education.
