‘Just Heal, Bro’ Black Male Mental Health Tour Coming to Charlotte
Just Heal, Bro a national Black male mental health tour is making its way to Charlotte. The tour will foster healing through experiential and clinical dialogue led by Black male experts. They will discuss mental and behavioral health, emotional intelligence, and Black manhood. The event is free to the public and a men-only event.
The tour will be in Charlotte Friday, March 25th starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts. Speakers of the event will include NFL veteran Julius Thomas, actor/activist Lamman Rucker, former pro ball player and licensed therapist Jay Barnett, professor Dr. Oshan Gadsden, and community builder Lawrence Adjah. In this safe space, men will get the chance to experience emotional and mental healing together as a group. Local Black therapists will be on-site and have resources for those interested.
According to a press release, Just Heal, Bro is designed to help Black men with the following:
- Find strength in vulnerability and healing through education and community
- Develop emotional intelligence
- Cultivate brotherhood and community amongst each other
- Foster Black male healing journeys through culturally responsive solutions
