There is Now Free N95 Masks for North Carolina and More
Free masks are coming our way! If you are looking for a mask, the Biden administration announced Wednesday that 400 million nonsurgical N95 masks will be handed out. This will be done all free of charge. These will be available for pick up at community health centers and retail pharmacies across the United States. This is due to the widespread of new COVID-19 variants.
According to USA Today, individuals will be limited to three masks per person. N95 masks will be delivered to pharmacies and health centers later in the week. By the end of next week, people should be able to pick up the masks and take them home.
The program will be fully operational by early February 2022. The move comes just days after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its mask guidance to acknowledge that cloth masks do not offer as much protection against contracting COVID-19 as surgical masks or respirators. Additionally, it is important to note that N95 respirator masks can filter out 95% of all airborne particles when used correctly. This offers the highest level of protection, according to the CDC.
