It’s August 10th and just like the days before and the ones to come, the history is weird, a little scary and we’ve got a list of them for you to enjoy. Every morning I wake up grateful for the day and wonder what strangeness is associated with it. (Yes, I admit I’m a different breed of human)

Knowing major historical events is crucial to understanding how we live today. Seeing what happened in the past intrigues me. You might think I’m weird, but I find history fascinating because of the weird and scary things that happen. Here are 5 of the weirdest and scariest facts for August 10th. Enjoy!

• Kylie Jenner Birthday

  Happy Birthday to one of the biggest models, TV personalities, and female entrepreneurs. Today Kylie Jennie celebrates her 24th birthday. She was born in 1997 in Los Angeles, California to Kris and Bruce (Now Caitlyn) Jenner.

• To Venus We Go!

  On August 10th, 1990 the Magellan spacecraft begins its orbit of the planet Venus. This event occurred after a 15-month journey from Earth. Amazing! The space craft spent the next four years mapping Venus, producing a detailed map of 99% of the planet. Pretty out of this world if I don't say so myself...

• Tampa Bay Oil Spill

  Tampa Bay had a big spill on August 10th,1993. In Tampa Bay, FL, about 336,000 gallons of No. 6 fuel oil was spilled into Tampa Bay after three ships collided with eachother. This happened after the ships were the barge Bouchard B155, the freighter Balsa 37, and the barge Ocean 255.
• National S’mores Day

  These just might be my favorite Summer treat. (Well and my favorite camping snack) It's national s'mores day! Loretta Scott Crew is credited with creating the first official s'mores recipe, consisting of graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, and chocolate bars, published in 1927. Fun fact...Morrisville, North Carolina has also participated in this holiday by changing its name to S'Morrisville for the day and holding an event in the past.
