Man Wins North Carolina Powerball Prize With Fortune Cookie Numbers

A Florida native Ernesto Sorzano won the $500,000 Powerball prize over the weekend with numbers he got from a fortune cookie! After ordering his favorite Chinese take-out meal, fried rice with shrimp, Sorzano used the fortune cookie numbers to buy the winning ticket. He bought the ticket from the 7-Eleven on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville. I’ve got to start paying attention to my fortune cookie numbers more.

On Monday, he picked up his prize of $353,751 after taxes from the lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
