Carolina Streamer Spotlight: Meet Josh McClure/Trueverdict
Video games are all the rage, so we decided to shed some light on local video game streamers in the Carolinas. This week, we had the chance to sit down with local community game streamer, Josh McClure/Trueverdict, and ask him about being part of the game stream community!
How did you get into streaming? What was the original goal?
I’ve always been a gamer and I’ve always been told I’m entertaining to watch and listen to. One day I decided to buy a webcam and click “go live” and it kind of took off from there. The original goal was just to have fun!
What’s been your best moment as a streamer?
My best moment would have to be when I hosted my giveaway stream and I was able to give back to everyone who has been supporting me on my channel.
What games speak to you?
I’m a variety streamer so I play everything, but my heart belongs to Call of Duty and Halo, both games I grew up on and cherish lots of memories with.
How do you like connecting with your audience? What tool do you use most (chat, Twitter, Discord, etc.?)
I mainly talk to my community through Discord and Twitter! I talk to them every day and it’s like we’ve been friends for years but we only know each other online.
If your fans were only going to take one message away from watching you, what would you want that to be?
If my fans could take one message from my live streams it would be my goal to always spread positivity, make an impact on someone else, and have fun.
What advice would you give to aspiring streamers?
The biggest advice I would give to aspiring streamers is don’t be nervous! People are going to love you. Be yourself and do your thing. Never let someone else’s success define you.
What’s been one of the biggest surprises that you never thought of going into
streaming?
I never thought streaming was something that I could do. I’m a father and a husband and trying to squeeze streaming in between family time can be tough, but surprisingly it’s worked out well for me and I have been able to juggle both with ease.
For those who don’t know, how can they find you? (Social/Twitch/YouTube)
For people that don’t know me, in the streaming world of Twitch I am known as TrueVerdict, True, or just simply Verdict. I’m a Twitch Affiliate and I play a variety of different games online. I use my platform to meet new people and entertain those who decide to drop in. I am also on Twitter @_TrueVerdict.
