If you haven’t seen Netflix’s show Lenox Hill, I advise you to stop reading this article because it is a spoiler alert.
Watching the documentary series show Lenox Hill, I followed the lives of Dr. John Boockvar, Dr. David Langer, Dr. Mirtha Macri, Dr. Amanda Little Richardson, and others during their journeys at the hospital.
The first eight episodes of the Netflix documentary series “Lenox Hill” followed these doctors and their passion within their work. Watching Lenox Hill, you get to see two brain surgeons, an emergency room physician, and a Chief Resident OBGYN in their day to day routines at the Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC which will blow your mind.
Now in the 9th and newest episode, named “pandemic,” the series looks into a chronological order of the and looks into how the COVID-19 outbreak. As we know, New York was hit rather hard with the pandemic, so in this 30-minute special provides fascinating insight from the front line. This episode takes you from the days before lockdown through the nationwide wave of racial justice protests; it is amazing to watch captured all on film.
You see patients pass away within days of contracting the virus, people flooding the emergent room, and the streets on NYC bare and filled with coldness due to Covid-19. You see the harsh reality of a morgue being built outside the hospital and hear terrible things like “let natures take it’s course” because of the tragedy of coronavirus.
It’s chilling really, but then I think to myself…this isn’t even over. I feel this episode is critical to watch, so we can all truly see how monumental 2020 is and this pandemic will forever be on our history and lives. You get to see how these health care professionals have and skills are making incredible sacrifices to do whatever it takes to stop Covid-19 and keep us safe.
