Barack & Michelle Obama To Host Virtual Graduation For The Class Of 2020
This year, many students, their parents, caretakers, and their families are saddened that the class of 2020 won’t be able to have a graduation ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the class of 2020 are in luck! On Tuesday (May 5), Michelle Obama took to Twitter to announce that she and her husband, Barack Obama will be hosting a virtual graduation.
“I know how hard the #classof2020 has worked to make it to graduation, so @BarackObama and I want to give you the celebration you deserve,” Michelle tweeted.
“That’s why @ReachHigher and I are teaming up with @YouTube to host a virtual graduation on June 6.” The ceremony takes place at 12 pm EST. Both Michelle and Barack will be speaking at the ceremony along with Sec. Condoleezza Rice, BTS, Lady Gaga, Sec. Robert M. Gates, Sundar Pichai, and Malala Yousafzai.
The class of 2020 will also have special appearances by celebrities, including Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, AsapScience, Chloe X Halle, Kerry Washington, and Zendaya.
