You don’t have to be in New Orleans to enjoy a good Mardi Gras celebration. But you may not want to be in North Carolina for Mardi Gras either.

But other than The Big Easy, which U.S. cities are best for celebrating Fat Tuesday? Well, Lawn Love ranked 2022’s Best Cities for Mardi Gras omitting New Orleans because well duh that’s the best.

They ranked cities on the number of Mardi Gras events to attend, bars to quench your thirst, and Cajun and Creole restaurants to satisfy your appetite, among six total factors. Also included in the rankings were the number of party supply stores and metaphysical stores, as well as Google searches for Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday. It’s no surprise that many of the top 10 were in Louisiana or nearby states. Though the fact that two North Carolina cities ranked so low for their Mardi Gras celebrations was unexpected.
