NORTH PORT, FL - SEPTEMBER 20: An FBI agent talks with a North Port officer while they collect evidence from the family home of Brian Laundrie, who is a person of interest after his fiancé Gabby Petito went missing on September 20, 2021 in North Port, Florida. Could Brian Laundrie be in Boone, NC? He’s probably the most wanted man in America right now. Laundrie became a household name earlier this month. It reported that he returned home from a cross-country road trip he was on his fiance Gabby Petitio without her. He and his family promptly lawyered up and refused to cooperate with Gabby’s family or the police. This led to public perception that he was guilty, even before Gabby’s body was discovered.

Then Laundrie’s parents reported him missing on Friday, September 17th. They say he left home the previous Tuesday and had not returned. He was declared a “person of interest” in her disappearance which has been ruled a homicide. Since that time the FBI has issued a warrant for his arrest for using a debit card not authorized to him. That card is widely speculated to be Gabby’s after her death.

The police and FBI have been searching the Carlton Reserve near the Laundrie’s home in North Port, FL for over a week now and nothing has turned up. Dog The Bounty Hunter has now gotten involved in the search. Reward money is growing for tips that lead to his arrest. Many people think that his parents are covering for him and that he was never in the reserve as they claim. One theory is that he may be on the Appalachian Trail as he has hiked there in the past. And on the heels of that theory comes some supposed sitings of Brian Laundrie in Boone, NC.

If I had to guess I’d say he probably isn’t. But anything is possible that’s for sure. And it certainly seems like he isn’t in the reserve at this point. So where is he? The family supposedly left for a “camping trip” according to neighbors and was gone for three days. Which would have given them enough time to drop Laundrie off in the vicinity of Boone. Or if not there somewhere he could have reached the area by hiking. And as you would expect social media has been abuzz over potential sightings of the fugitive.
