When you think of places people dream of living in, cities like New York or Miami may come to mind, but you’d be wrong. It turns out, those aren’t the spots attracting the most new residents. According to CNBC, there are other cities growing at high rates and they may not be ones you’d expect.
The Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, a business policy think tank, has just come out with their list of the fastest-growing cities in America. They ranked cities based on factors including population growth, employment rates, housing costs, and economic output.
At the top of the list is the San Francisco Bay Area, which includes other cities like San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Jose, and Palo Alto. Silicon Valley and the tech hub have seen a decline in the housing market, but the area is still number one with 4.8% GDP growth in 2022.
Two metros in North Carolina also cracked the top ten. By the way, I’ve lived in four of the cities on this list: Charlotte, Raliegh, Seattle, and Austin. That totally makes me an “influencer,” right?
