Prices on everything are increasing. And tickets are no different. It may be the off-season for football but demand (and prices) for NFL games are starting to top pre-pandemic levels. As a result, The Action Network has done the math in order to rank which fans’ tickets have increased the most since 2006. And well Carolina Panthers’ ticket prices are closer to the top of that list than the bottom. The Panthers now have the 10th most expensive ticket cost. This is a lot, considering we don’t have a new stadium, and well the last couple of years have been dismal on the field.
Despite inflation being at an all-time high, demand for live sports is rising steadily. Sports attendance is usually “unresponsive to price changes”. But if you look at the increases over the last 15 years, well it’s rough. 7 teams saw the cost to attend their games increase by over 100%. And all but 6 saw at least a 50% price hike.
Below is a ranking of NFL teams from the highest percentage change of average ticket price between 2006 to the lowest. Where did the Carolina Panthers ticket prices rank on this list? We weren’t over 100% but still near the top. If you regularly attend games do you agree with this study?
