With February here, there are some big savings on the way. Categories like tax prep, home, and garden, and Valentine’s Day-themed gift options like flowers and fragrances all provide big savings for shoppers. RetailMeNot has shared its top 5 to Buy in February categories for the month for significant savings.

Each month, RetailMeNot’s savings experts scour our in-house retail data to see industry averages of which categories are the smartest to shop. For February savings, shoppers should pay attention to the following areas below.

  • 1. Computers and Electronics (Average Discount: 41%)

    Over the past few years, retailers like Dell, Lenovo, and HP have offered doorbuster-style deals on laptops, gaming PCs, or tablets over Presidents Day weekend (Feb. 22-24). During the Big Game, there are a lot of great TV deals, so if you’re in the market, it’s a great time to buy. Check out Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Costco and Sam’s Club for some of the best deals.

  • 2. Tax-Preparation Services and Software (Average Discount: 35%)

    Companies like TurboTax, TaxAct, TaxSlayer, and H&R Block know that tax-filers are shopping around and hunting for deals now. Tax preparation services most often allow you to import previous years’ returns from their competitors, so you can switch providers to save money.

  • 3. Flowers (Average Discount: 19%)

    Timing is everything when it comes to finding flower deals in February. Early in the month, flower delivery companies will start to entice early-bird shoppers with promo codes to lock in their business.

  • 4. Fragrances and Perfumes (Average Discount: 26%)

    When retailers scramble to sell what’s about to become leftovers after Valentine’s Day, the best deals are found at the last minute and right after the holiday. As a result, perfumes, fragrances, and gifts related to beauty will become more affordable. Immediately after Valentine’s Day, beauty departments at stores like Macy’s, Kohl’s, and Bloomingdale’s are filled with fragrance and gift set deals.

  • 5. Home Goods (Average Discount: 17%)

    Presidents Day, being a three-day weekend offers great deals on home goods. Expect large appliances to be marked down (especially if you buy a suite of them). Based on our internal data, we’re also tracking an average 18% discount on furniture and an average 14% discount on mattresses for the month of February.
