Summer is here and I can’t seem to stop daydreaming about a frozen drink at a swim-up bar with views of gorgeous white sand and the bluest of waters. No, I don’t have a trip booked at this moment, but who knows that could change. Manifesting this. It is helpful to be in Charlotte as we have easy access to Caribbean destinations with 11 magnificent islands a simple nonstop flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. And these are some world-class destinations, a passport is not always required. Whether you share the same perfect vacation as me where you go from the beach to a swim-up pool bar to dinner at a fantastic resort restaurant, or you are more adventure-minded and want to explore and live like the locals.

With so many Caribbean destinations on a short nonstop flight from Charlotte, there really are no excuses! And if you don’t mind a connection, there are even more offerings. All of these flights are offered on American Airlines, thanks to Charlotte Douglas International Airport being a hub. Most run daily and some even have multiple flight times on the weekends.   • Aruba

    American has a nonstop flight from Charlotte to Oranjestad, Aruba. I have heard many great things when it comes to the island of Aruba. There are tons of things to do like visiting the Butterfly Farm, taking scooters around the island, flamingos at the beach, and more! Aruba has clear blue waters perfect for picture-taking moments on the beach as well.

  • Grand Cayman

    American offers daily non-stop flights to Grand Cayman Island. Check out some of their main attractions like Starfish Pointe, the turtle center, and visit the beaches to do plenty of water activities. Take a crack at snorkeling to see all of the sea life, paddle boarding, scuba diving, and more.

  • Montego Bay

    American offers a direct flight to Montego Bay Jamaica, which is home to many resorts and tourist attractions. Montego Bay is one of the most popular destinations to visit in Jamaica. They have the BEST KFC you can find, horseback riding both on land and in water, catamaran cruises, plenty of nightlife, and shopping. Check out some of the local spots for that true Jamaican flare.

  • Nassau

    Fly direct to Nassau with direct access to the island and nearby Paradise Island on American. When visiting Nassau you can find plenty of shops, beaches, restaurants, and locals to keep you entertained. When visiting Puerto Rico, you won’t need a passport so that is a great bonus. Check out some famous tourist spots and snap photos to capture the memories. Visiting Old San Juan is a must as you can see the culture and history that lies in Puerto Rico.

  • St. Croix

    American offers a direct flight from Charlotte Christiansted St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Another part of the Caribbean that you won’t need a passport. Take a trip to the botanical gardens in the Virgin Islands to capture beautiful moments and views. Enjoy the beach, shop and party with locals, and experience a new side of the Caribbeans.

  • St. Lucia
