When many of us were kids, we dreamed of growing up to play professional sports. The percentage of people who actually end up doing that is minuscule. Some folks who still want to be heavily involved in sports as adults go into team management, coaching, or sportscasting. And a fortunate few become team owners.

Several celebrities who love basketball have put their money where their hearts are to own at least a piece of an NBA team. While Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan is certainly a celebrity, he’s not on this list from Essentially Sports. That’s probably because he’s been involved in the business of basketball for most of his adult life. Well, we’re including him below because we like Mike!
