R&B Legend D’Wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Toné! Passes Away at 64

His family announced on social media that he passed away on Friday at the age of 64. Wiggins had been facing serious health challenges before his passing. "With broken hearts, we share with you that our beloved D’Wayne passed away this morning surrounded by family and loved ones," the group wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. "Over the past year, he has been privately and courageously battling bladder cancer. Through this fight, he remained committed and present for his family, his music, his fans and his community." Tony! Toni! Toné! first made waves in the late 1980s, becoming one of Oakland’s most beloved music groups. Their biggest moment came in 1993 when their album Sons of Soul went double platinum, solidifying their place in R&B history.
