Nelly & Ashanti Docuseries Reportedly Set At Peacock
Nelly and Ashanti became parents to their first child together last year, and now they’re bringing their love story to a brand new docuseries. According to Deadline, Peacock has officially picked up a docuseries about the couple, giving fans a closer look at their personal and professional lives. The series is currently being filmed by Critical Content, the same studio behind Netflix’s Sly and MTV’s Catfish.
The docuseries will follow their journey from their early days in music to their love rekindling. Sources say Nelly and Ashanti began filming months ago, but there’s no release date yet.
Nelly and Ashanti’s relationship started back in 2003, when they began dating. After being together for a decade, they split up in 2013 but got back together in 2023. They kept their reunion quiet, but shocked everyone when they tied the knot in December 2023 in Nelly’s home state of Missouri. In July 2024, they welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide.
Last year, PEOPLE shared that Nelly and Ashanti first met at the 2003 Grammy Award nomination announcements, with Ashanti reflecting on their first meeting in VH1’s Behind the Music special.
The couple made headlines again when they reunited during Ja Rule and Fat Joe’s Verzuz battle in 2021. Fans were just as surprised to see the two together on stage as they were. After the show, Ashanti went live on Instagram with Ja Rule and revealed she was shocked to see Nelly performing alongside them.
