I bet there are a few facts that you didn’t know you needed to know. Well, that’s why there is BDaht’s “3 Useless Facts. Today, October 30, he gave us three different facts that might cause you to say, “Huh, didn’t know that.”
- Scotland Has Over 400 Words to Refer to Snow
- Bet you didn’t know this one. You read that right, Scotland has over 400 words to refer to snow. One of its three official languages has a great extent of expressive phrases for snow. To be exact, they have 421 words for snow as of now. The words are a range from snaw and flindrinkin to skelf and sneesl.
- SEARS Once Sold Houses
- Did you know there was once a time when you could purchase a house through SEARS? Yes, that’s right! The retail chain where you could purchase camping equipment, clothes, and snacks once allowed you to purchase a home. They were kit houses that you would have to be able to assemble yourself. Apparently, the original instruction manual contained 75 pages worth of steps. This was during a time before every state had a Walmart.
- What Animal Has the Largest Paid of Eyes?
- Lion? Elephant? I’m sure those were a few of some of your first guesses, but they’re all wrong. The giant squid actually is the animal with the largest pair of eyes. Its eyes are the size of soccer balls and at least 25 centimeters across. The largest fish eye is only around 9 centimers wife which belongs to the swordfish.
