CMPD Officer Dies From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound Monday Afternoon
UPDATE (1:51 pm): Officials are reporting that an officer has shot himself while on duty Monday afternoon in Charlotte, NC. The officer reportedly died at the hospital.
CMPD is reporting an investigation is underway for an officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday afternoon near the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Reports show that near 12:30 pm on Steele Creek Rd. near the airport is where the shooting occurred. Officials have not stated who fired shots or who was injured during the incident.
WSOC-TV reporter Hunter Saenz tweeted the following:
