For the first time in 3ish months, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper will be in Charlotte today, Thursday, October 21st. Cooper will be in the Ballantyne area visiting the LeafSpring School daycare. The purpose of Cooper’s visit is to discuss grant money available to benefit childcare centers and parents.
This comes after the NC Governor announced he is allocating $805 million from the American Rescue Plan Act to childcare programs across the state. The money is aimed at making care more affordable for families and increasing pay in an effort to retain staff.
If you’re in the Ballantyne area keep an eye out for traffic as Governor Cooper visits Charlotte.
