The NFL Draft kicks off tomorrow night April 28th. And the hometown Carolina Panthers have the 6th overall pick in the draft. There are lots of questions on how the team plans to use that pick. We need a left tackle and there are some great options such at NC State's Ikem Ekwonu. Many would argue, that we need a quarterback but is there one worthy of the 6th pick? Would drafting a QB be a waste without an O-line to protect him? Most fans feel that even with protection Darnold isn't the guy. There is also the idea of trading down to get multiple picks. The Panthers have no second or third-round picks after trading for Sam Darnold last year. But no matter what direction the Panthers choose to go, how much of an impact is a good draft when it comes to Super Bowl success?

Pickswise recently looked at the last 10 Super Bowl-winning rosters to see just how many players were drafted by the winning team. So we can get an answer as to if that draft picks translate to a Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Key Findings:

  • 44.64% of the Super Bowl LVI winning LA Rams roster came from the draft
  • Since Super Bowl XLIX, the New England Patriots have had a squad with over 46% of the players coming from the draft
  • Kansas City Chiefs had only 31% of their Super Bowl LIV winning team from the draft.
  • Nine of the 10 Super Bowl MVPs were drafted by their team
