Francene Marie interview Trena K. Palmer, MSW/MPA – Recreation Coordinator for Senior Services with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation about 2020 Senior Games.
In addition to traditional athletic activities like 5K Road Race, Track & Field events, cycling, basketball and softball games less strenuous activities include::archery, horseshoes, bocce, cornhole, shuffleboard, etc.
Creative & musical activities include Heritage Arts – jewelry making, needlework, weaving, work working, stained glass, etc.
Visual Arts include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, etc.
Performing Arts: stand up comedy, dance, instrumental, vocal, dance, cheerleading
Individuals who win 1st, 2nd, 3rd in most events are invited to compete in the North Carolina State Senior Games. If they win they’re invited to compete in National Senior Games (not including Creative/Performing Arts).
