I am a huge gamer and a big fan of Mario. Recently, Nintendo Switch 2 released Mario Tennis Fever, which lets 4 players go head-to-head on one board. Go on an adventure with different matchups using ice ratchets, using the classic mushrooms and power-ups to beat opponents. Mix and match 30 different features with 38 playable characters from Mario, Toad, Bowser, Luigi, and so many other classic characters. You can also experience a story in which Mario and friends, encountering monsters on a remote island, find themselves transformed into babies. I don’t know about you, but I am excited for this new gameplay.
According to Digital Download, Mario Tennis Fever is one of Nintendo’s weakest titles in years, and certainly its weakest tennis title. This is tragic because I loved Mario Tennis back on the N64, Game Boy, and GameCube. It was first released on the Nintendo 64 in 2000, and of course, the gameplay was not as close as it is today. But you still had the iconic characters from the 80s and 90s Mario games. Mario Tennis N64 still had bright graphics and intuitive, but incredibly tight, controls that all Mario games are known for, a cast of 16 Nintendo characters. It was also the first time we got to see Waluigi make his debut on the Mario Tennis circuit.
One of the funniest things about this game is the story mode. This mode takes you through different sequences of whatever character you choose to select. But if you are like me, you always choose Mario to beat the game. Another unique feature is the mini-game mode. This mode was introduced in Mario Party that allows players to just play various mini games within the game. Although I really like playing the story mode, sometimes I like getting practice time in and enjoying the mini games Mario Tennis has to offer. Were you a fan of the classic Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, or are you a fan of the new Mario Tennis Fever? Add my gamer tag and lets gets some runs in.
