John Stamos filmed scenes for the second season of the Netflix series The Hunting Wives in downtown Mooresville on Monday. About 60 production workers took over a Broad Street spot. Caleb Cranfield runs Bace Barbershop nearby. He and his crew "stopped cutting hair and just stared" as the production occupied a parking lot and building from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The production team packed the lot with trucks and equipment for a month and a half before shooting. Just one day of filming. Cranfield toured the set with the head of the union workers. He saw a downstairs "morgue" and a street-level campaign office for fictional Texas gubernatorial candidate Jed Banks.

"It was fun to see," Cranfield said, per The Charlotte Observer on Tuesday. He described the sets as detailed "to a T," with the campaign office featuring stacks of Jed Banks bumper stickers and flyers on desks.

Stamos played Uncle Jesse in Full House. He also starred as Dr. Tony Gates in ER. His film credits include Lance Stargrove in the 1986 teen action flick Never Too Young to Die and George in the 2016 My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

Production continues at a lake house elsewhere on Lake Norman. Workers said the crew would probably return to Mooresville at some point but didn't give specific dates or locations.

The Observer peered through the building windows. Campaign materials sat on desks inside the set. The production team transformed the space to match the show's requirements for the gubernatorial campaign office scenes.

Downtown Mooresville has served as a filming spot for other television productions. Cinemax's Banshee shot scenes there in 2012. Showtime's Homeland also used the area for a few shots that same year.

"Amazing," Cranfield said, describing what he saw watching all the workers on site. Dozens of crew members coordinated the day-long shoot in the parking lot outside his business. The barber shop owner found the scale impressive.
