Seemingly Overzealous Ice Cream To Open Davidson, Matthews Locations in 2026

Seemingly Overzealous will launch two shops in Davidson and Matthews next year. Davidson gets its scoop shop in spring 2026. Matthews waits until late summer.

The chain scoops dairy-free, egg-free, and gluten-free frozen desserts. Each shop spans 1,000 square feet and stocks signature flavors like Can't Be All Cookie and I'm Freakin' Out.

This growth builds on three existing Charlotte spots: Camp North End, Plaza Midwood, and Dilworth. Co-founder Jessica Berrese says the company wants to reach different neighborhoods and bring frozen desserts to more people across town.

"To the new customers we have yet to meet in these new areas. We can’t wait to serve you and your families. We have a deep desire to create experiences that go beyond just ice cream and can’t wait to welcome you into our little ice cream world."

Davidson's shop sits at 207 Griffith St. Matthews gets 126 Matthews Station St. Waffle cones join the lineup with ice cream sandwiches, pints, and cakes.

Both spots will debut milkshakes, flights, and more baked goods than before. The website states that everyone deserves to walk into a shop and pick what they want, no matter what they can or can't eat.

Hours run Monday through Thursday, 1-9 p.m. Friday stretches from 1-10 p.m. Saturday opens at noon and closes at 10 p.m., while Sunday goes from noon to 8 p.m.
