Trunk Or Treating In Charlotte For Halloween
Throughout the years as kids trick-or-treat on Halloween, a new tradition has emerged to keep kids safe and that is the “trunk or treat.”
Early mentions of trunk-or-treating date as far back as 1994 and are commonly associated with churches, who present the events as safer alternatives to door-to-door trick-or-treating.
We’ve all watched the news through the years and heard about razors in candy, and poison, and some other stuff. Sadly in today’s day and age, you just can’t trust everyone to do things the right way and keep things safe for our kids.
I remember one year when my son was little, we went trunk or treating in the local mall. It wasn’t in car trunks, but we did go from store to store indoors and enjoyed the trick-or-treating although I will admit the mall didn’t have as good as candy as the people on our street do.
After that, we went trick-or-treating door-to-door in our neighborhood and just checked the candy. Making sure everything looked okay before the boy started to eat his Halloween goodies.
For those of you who are a little weary of the door-to-door trick-or-treating to mostly strangers, we found some good places right here in Charlotte where you can do some trunk-or-treating this year.
