As the rain comes down outside, you look for some stuff for the kids to do, such as arts and crafts, watching cartoons on TV, watching shows on the Disney Channel, or playing dreaded video games.

But sometimes, the kids want to get out of the house and play.

So, as you look for something to do with the kids right here in Charlotte, you can find many indoor places where kids can play, let loose, and have some fun.

When my kids were little and they were a bit restless with rainy days outside, I used to take them to a lot of jump houses, and then, of course, there’s Chuck E. Cheese and similar places where the kids can have so much fun.

We gathered a couple of the great indoor kid's play places here in Charlotte to take the kids this weekend.

Just Play

Just Play provides kids an opportunity to enjoy interactive play and discovery in a safe, clean, and fun environment. They have created an adventure playground with climbing structures, a ninja course, interactive digital games, and more! This space is specifically designed with young kids in mind.

Just Play is open Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 7 PM Fridays, 9 to 8 Saturdays 9 to 8, and Sundays 12 to 6. Make sure to bring socks.

Big Air Trampoline Park

Big Air Trampoline Park features a wide range of activities, including open jump areas, zip lines, dodgeball courts, and more, providing endless entertainment for kids and adults alike.

The attractions include:

Main Court: Flip and fly on their wall-to-wall trampolines. This court is made to show your freestyle jump skills. The one place where they encourage kids to jump off the walls.

Ninja Course: Their ninja-inspired obstacle course, with 3 degrees of difficulty, will challenge everything you’ve got! Climb, crawl, jump, and swing your way through all sorts of obstacles.

Discovery Place Science

Discovery Place Science is described as a captivating destination offering an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages, making it a top choice for things to do in Charlotte. Explore a wealth of interactive exhibits, awe-inspiring experiments, and fascinating displays that bring science to life.

Discovery Place Science has many events on the calendar: Science on the Rocks on October 11, and Macramé on October 24. They also feature IMAX movies.
