Starbucks Offering Combo Meals: How Much Are You Saving?
Starbucks announced the launch of a limited-time Pairings Menu, which offers up a combination of hot or iced coffee or tea with a croissant starting at $5 or a hot or iced coffee or tea with any breakfast sandwich starting at $6.
According to Nation’s Restaurant News, the promotion started on June 11 and it was the first time that Starbucks has offered anything resembling a combo meal. Starbucks’ new iced coffee blend is also available with the promotion. If customers order a breakfast sandwich with double-smoked bacon, Impossible breakfast meat, or additional customizations, there will be an upcharge.
Why did Starbucks launch a limited-time Pairings Menu?
Apparently, during the company’s last earnings call, CEO Laxman Narasimhan said that Starbucks is struggling to appeal to cash-strapped customers, which has “impacted traffic.” Narasimhan said that Starbucks plans to offer more digital in-app deals to lure customers back to the brand, and although this is not a digital-only promotion, it is clearly the first step Starbucks is taking to get back on the right track.
Starbucks will keep expanding its menu with new offerings. Recently, it introduced “spicy” beverages, featuring a unique chili blend, available for a limited time this spring. Additionally, last month saw the launch of the Summer Berry Refreshers with popping pearls.

The coffee chain and Grubhub recently announced a partnership to bring Grubhub delivery to Starbucks customers in the U.S. Beginning this month, Starbucks Delivery with Grubhub will roll out to select markets in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Illinois, with national availability anticipated in all 50 states across the U.S. by August 2024.
“By joining forces with a beloved national brand like Starbucks, we’re offering customers more of what they want on Grubhub while strengthening our enterprise offering and growing our merchant supply in markets nationwide,” said Liz Bosone, VP of enterprise partnerships at Grubhub. ”We’re proud to offer national and independent restaurants on our platform — a complementary duo — to give customers more choices and build loyalty.”
As a bonus, if you’re an Amazon Prime Member, you can now pay $0 for food delivery fees on orders of $12 or more, among other benefits. Amazon now offers Grubhub on Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping app.
Previously, Amazon offered Prime customers a free one-year subscription to Grubhub Plus. However, that one auto-renewed at $129 per year. Now, it’s a permanent part of the Prime subscription.
Even if it only saves us a few bucks, we’ll take just about any perk that can save us money.
