Barbeque lovers this one is for you! North Carolina will once again play host to the Lexington BBQ Festival this Saturday, October 28th. This year's festival will be the 39th annual and the excitement is as strong as ever. The festival takes place in historic Uptown Lexington on Main Street and the adjoining side streets between 4th Street and 5th Avenue. It's free to attend at will run from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

So what all does the Lexington BBQ Festival entail? Lots and lots of BBQ. But you'll only find one type, the festival's namesake- Lexington-style BBQ. Lexington BBQ is pork shoulder in a red sauce made from vinegar, tomatoes, and spices.  BBQ tents will be open from 10am-4pm and can be found at West Center Street, North Main Street, & South Main, and 3rd Avenue. There will also be 250+ vendors, six entertainment stages, street performers, a children's area, a 50-ton Pig-themed Sand Sculpture, Car shows, a Dinosaur Exhibit, a Bicycle Stunt Show, and much more! You can view the live music schedule here.

Lexington is a little over an hour away from Charlotte. You can also take the Amtrack train directly to the festival. Get more info here.
