The 7 North Carolina Cities Where You’re Most Likely To Encounter A Ghost
October is the season where we talk about all things haunted and spooky. For some that can mean attractions like haunted mazes and houses. But it can also be the true haunts of this world, if you believe in that sort of thing. Personally, I’m not 100% convinced I believe but I LOVE hearing the stories. So when our friends at BetCarolina sent me their latest research on the most haunted cities in North Carolina of course I was intrigued. They utilized GhostsofAmerica.com to determine the number of reported ghost sightings in different cities across the state of North Carolina. And these were the 7 North Carolina cities where you are most likely going to encounter a ghost.
- Camp Lejune (42 sightings)
- Salisbury (29 sightings)
- Winston-Salem (26 sightings)
- Mount Airy (22 sightings)
- Fort Bragg (21 sightings)
- Gastonia (19 sightings)
- Jacksonville (18 sightings)
Of course, even being or living in these cities isn’t a slam dunk for a paranormal encounter. In fact, odds are you’ll go your entire life without running into a ghost. But your best chance is in the Marine Corps Base of Camp Lejune. Reports of haunted activity on the base include footsteps and the ghost of a little boy. While the number of reported sightings pales in comparison to cities like Savannah, GA or New Orleans, LA if you’re a fan of the paranormal you may want to see if you can pay a visit to one of these North Carolina cities maybe you’ll even see a ghost for yourself!
Thanks to our friends at BetCarolina for sharing their research with us. You can read more about these cities via the BetCarolina website here.
