Dunkin or Starbucks? This Is North Carolina’s Favorite
Sure coffee is a year-round necessity. But in the fall and winter, it’s just coffee season. Pumpkin spiced lattes and holiday drinks are a stapleDunkin or Starbucks, the question can illicit strong feelings from some who have a clear preference in the matter. Others are adamantly against both, only wanting to patronize local coffee establishments. I’m far from a coffee snob so I enjoy both, and tend to get different drinks at both. We know the Northeast loves Dunkin’, and Starbucks has seemingly taken over the world. But which one does North Carolina prefer? Seems like it’s Starbucks! Our friends at BetCarolina sent us this data comparing the two in the state.
They looked at the number of stores and compared it with the search volume of each brand in the state. And Starbucks came out on top. While I enjoy both and definitely enjoy the price point of Dunkin more, I’d say if given the choice for free I’d usually select Starbucks. Just 25% of the total search volume was for Dunkin compared to 75% for Starbucks. Now I want coffee, and in this case it’s going to Dunkin over Starbucks because that’s more convenient to the office!
