Was Angus Cloud’s OD Accidental? No Suicide Note Left Behind
More information about Euphoria star Angus Cloud’s death has surfaced. The 25-year-old actor died in his bedroom in his family home in Oakland, California, last month. An initial statement provided by his family read: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
The statement revealed that Angus buried his father, Conor, just the week prior and “intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.” A source close to the family said Angus was battling severe suicidal thoughts after getting back from Ireland, where they laid his father to rest. He was staying with his family for support during the difficult time.
Signs Point To No Suicide
However, just a few days after his death, Angus’ mom, Lisa, came out denying her son took his own life. She said he was talking about the future the day before he died. He was also helping family members out, and reorganizing his room. Lisa said she didn’t know what he “may have put in his body” but said he “put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep, and didn’t wake up. We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.”
Gossip website TMZ reported on Tuesday (August 15) that further evidence points to the actor’s death being a result of an accidental overdose and not suicide. According to law enforcement, Angus, who played Fezco on the HBO series Euphoria, did not write a note for loved ones. His autopsy report is complete and is currently pending toxicology results. Euphoria co-star Zendaya wrote a heartfelt tribute for Cloud on Instagram. “Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it).”
