Luther Vandross Gets Mistaken For Master P On Google, Social Media Reacts
Luther Vandross got mistaken for Master P on Google, which caused fans online to joke about the situation… and some were insulted by the mixup. Questlove took a screenshot of the Google search and was annoyed by the mistake.
“This is why humans aren’t replaceable [unimpressed face emoji],” he wrote in the caption, referencing companies using artificial intelligence (AI) to complete tasks.
Fans flocked to the comment section with some jokes and others expressing their thoughts about the incident.
“She said she want some Marvin Gaye, some No Limit Soldiers, a little Anita…will definitely set this party off right…,” one fan jokingly wrote, paraphrasing the lyrics of Kanye West’s “Slow Jamz” and adding in Master P’s wrestling team in place of Vandross’ name in the song.
“One of the greatest injustices in music history. How dare they!” one fan fired back.

Another fan created a fake backstory to side with the tech company. “Google is correct. A rarely known fact: Luther and Master P were actually the same person,” a fan jokingly responded to the mishap. “Luther had a hard time crossing over into the rap world after making so many soft, sweet love songs, so, with the help of Steven Spielberg and the team from Jurassic Park, he wore prosthetics, makeup, and lost weight to become Master P and make us say ‘uhh.’ After Luther’s unfortunate passing, Steven Spielberg got full rights to the Master P character, and began using an animatronic robot…like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park or E.T. Doubt me? Throw water on Master P and watch him go all Terminator. How do I know? I was a part of the project, codenamed ‘Never Too Bout It Bout It.'”
They continued clarifying, “Also, none of this true. But I wouldn’t be surprised if some conspiracy theorist is out there already making up a similar tale.”
Luther Vandross was singer, producer, and 8x Grammy winner known for songs such as “Dance With My Father,” “Never Too Much,” and more. He died of a stroke in 2005. Master P (born Percy Robert Miller Sr.,) is a rap mogul known for his No Limit record label, songs such as “Make ’em Say Uhh,” “Pass Me Da Green,” and his various business ventures.
