Doja Cat is Bloody and Naked in Video For ‘Attention’
Doja Cat definitely has our “attention” in her new song. The Los Angeles native dropped “Attention” Friday (June 16) with an accompanying video that leaves the singer bloody and naked. The visual starts off with Doja driving passed a mob of fans and paparazzi then later rapping in the streets. The artist is shown drenched in blood and naked at two points in the visual on the sidewalk.
The Grammy-winning artist speaks on her recent appearance change when she shaved her head on Instagram Live last year. She got some backlash with trolls saying she was now “unattractive.”
“Lookin’ good, but now they all sayin’ that I’m ugly/ Boo-hoo, my n—-, I ain’t sad you won’t f— me/I’m sad that you really thought your a– was above me,” she raps in “Attention.”
The Planet Her creator teased her first solo song of 2023 over the past few weeks with “Scarlet Letter-themed” tweets. On May 24, the “Kiss Me More” singer tweeted, “scarlet was here” with a blood drop emoji. On June 9, she tweeted, “scarlet’s watching” with the blood drop emoji making an appearance yet again. Over the weekend, she wrote, “let myself heal, scar finally sealed,” signed, again, with the blood drop emoji.
She previously hopped on the remix of SZA’s hit 'Kill Bill' back in April. The original plan, however, was for Doja to assist SZA on “Shirt,” which was released last year.

“She had surgery, she had to have that emergency, like, vocal cord surgery and she wasn’t ready in the time that we needed to get the song done,” SZA explained to Billboard. “There was a crossfire between, I think, her management and my management, and they had told us it was done, but it wasn’t actually done.
“It was just a lot of confusion,” she continued, “But I don’t know. I hope for the best, and I’m still, like, a major fan of her and her artistry. And I think she’s so incredible, and I would love to get her on the deluxe [version].”
Doja has also been hinting that fans should be receiving her fourth studio album, First of All, sometime soon.
